1·16 天前I think France measures space differently,.as in living areas only ?.not toilets, , corridors, kitchens etc ?
In Australia it’s the entire apartment, including balcony, I dont think that’s the case in France but I’d love to be corrected if I am wrong ?

1.5c was a goal to allow breathing room to stay under 2c. If we stabilised at around 1.5c we’d probably be able to respond to the changes but it would still be shitty eg continually rising sea level destroying infrastructure stronger rain events, stronger droughts, more powerful cyclones etc
The 1.5c level will likely be crossed using the rolling average method they talk of, in a couple years ie 2028 ish?
At around 2C we’ll have crossed to many tipping points and will have lost control, 4c being inevitable and perhaps even 6c, which would likely be an extinction level event for humanity (the seas become hypoxic and plankton die off, no more Oxygen production etc
There’s an interesting article by Professor Stefan Rahmstorf on Real Climate about this, he points out the new study is the same as his, the debate is over what is an AMOC collapse ? not a change in an understanding of the physics.

This new paper does not (and does not claim to) contradict earlier modeling studies about future AMOC changes and their climatic impact, as one of the authors (Richard Wood) has confirmed to me (we are presently both attending an AMOC workshop in Utrecht). It’s the same models, showing the same things – just the wording is different. What previous studies have labelled an ‘AMOC collapse’ is now called ‘no collapse’. It’s essentially a discussion about semantics, not physics. Do you call it an AMOC collapse if a weak and shallow wind-driven overturning persists after the thermohaline part has collapsed? Or not?

My gripe is with commercialisation of the intrenet, I’m of an age (old) that it offered the promise of a chocolate cake and delivered us a turd burger. Much of the reason for that is lock in on commerilsed scum baggery. I don’t blame the shit balls like Musk, Spez or Zuck for that (if it wasnt them it would be sone other shit stain) , I blame the 80% of users for normalising it all.

About 90 mins. I shut it down when i finish every and turn it off at the wall (fuskibg standby LEDs). I can go days without booting it back up. I use #LMDE
I run a second Signal for that in the secure folder of my Samsung phone.

Sorry to thread jack. One little app I miss from Windows is a simple screengrab annotator? Wondering if people have anything to recommend.
Eg to circle some on screen text, add an arrow and maybe add some of my own text.
I cant get my Loigtech KB to screen grab, so I just use the Screengrab app in Mint, which is fine but zero annotation abilities.
I have tried Flameshot but it is a shitshow and doesn’t work properly and is unstable (for me) and doesn’t allow me to put it in the clipboard and paste in say Signal.
