      To be fair to Musk (🤢), he would need to significantly dumb down proper Linux commands for his target audience. So it’s possible he wrote some pseudo command lines and sprinkled in the most known tech references that even his audience will sort of recognize.

      after he bought twitter and made a big thing about auditing their code, there was a post going around that was something like

      first he talked about cars, and i know nothing about cars but people said he was a genius so i believed it
      then he talked about rockets, and i know nothing about rockets but people said he was a genius so i believed it
      now he’s talking about computers, and i know a lot about computers, and he’s saying some of the most batshit insane things i’ve ever heard, so i’m starting to reevaluate my earlier choices…

        It would remove the Latin language packas well because its specifying the --no-preserve-root flag.

        Actually I’d worry that it might purge language all the way back to Indo-European, but if it means getting rid of French, its a risk I’m willing to take.

      I mean, there was a period about 15 years ago when he seemed to be the only rich person actually talking about climate change, doing something that might make some difference (investing in an electric vehicle startup, and later a rooftop solar startup) and seemed to actually be concerned about it. I now question if that was just an act or not.

      On the other hand there is the theory that he fell down the right wing social media pipeline during the pandemic and that’s why he’s seemed to have such a sudden shift on political party affiliation. I like that theory because I think it’s kinda funny to imagine one of the richest men in the world being too cooped up and spending too long doomscrolling to the point that he became radicalized by social media algorithms

    This seems like it makes sense on at least 2 levels, either because he’s saying he at some point had the ‘woke mind virus’ and deleted it, or more likely he’s saying this is what people need to do to ‘free’ themselves of the ‘woke mind virus’.

    You don’t have to endorse it to understand it. I don’t really understand Hazel’s confusion.

      The confusion is an affectation they’re putting on because the execution of the joke is just so poor.

      I especially love that he didn’t say where he was running rm -rf and I like to believe it’s from root, so he lobotomized himself.

    He truly is an idiot’s concept of a genius.

    No one who anctually understands Unix or IP networking would ever craft that as an explanation for this concept.

    That said, it’s an excellent explanation of how a lobotomy helped him embrace his true self.
